{"id":83669,"date":"2025-08-20T17:12:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T12:12:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=83669"},"modified":"2025-08-20T17:12:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T12:12:18","slug":"govt-sets-up-pakistan-digital-authority-with-dr-sohail-as-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/govt-sets-up-pakistan-digital-authority-with-dr-sohail-as-chairman\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt sets up Pakistan Digital Authority with Dr. Sohail as Chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pm-shehbaz-set-to-begin-official-visit-to-china\/\">Shehbaz Sharif, <\/a>has approved the names for the chairman and member of the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) following its formal establishment.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sohail Munir and Muhammad J Sear have been appointed as Chairperson and Member PDA, respectively, under the Ministry of IT and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/pakistan-crosses-200-million-telecom-subscribers-benchmark\/\">Telecom.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both appointments are made on a contract basis for five years.\u00a0 The Cabinet Division has issued the notification of appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for IT Shaza Fatima chaired the search committee, which was tasked with identifying and recommending qualified professionals for the key roles.<\/p>\n<p>Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Railways, Minister of State for Finance, along with the secretaries of establishment, cabinet, and IT &amp; telecom divisions, as well as Salman Akhtar, member of the Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd (PRAL) Board, were among the other members.<\/p>\n<p>The National Digital Master Plan, which will act as the guide for Pakistan&#8217;s digital transformation, has been given to the PDA to create, carry out, and oversee.<\/p>\n<p>To guarantee openness and efficient execution, the authority would also create a framework for monitoring and assessing digital initiatives nationwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has approved the names for the chairman and member of the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) following its formal establishment.
