KARACHI: Following the intense rain in the port city of Karachi<\/a>, bringing the life of the citizens to a standstill, the educational institutes will remain open from tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Social media was filled with the news of the closure of the schools on Thursday and Friday; however, authorities have slammed the messages as completely false and misleading.<\/p>\n

The Sindh School Education Department advised children and their parents to disregard unapproved posts and only follow verified notifications. Meanwhile, residents are asked to use great caution when crossing wet roadways during the continuous heavy rains.<\/p>\n

Karachi Rain<\/h2>\n

The death toll in Karachi due to intermittent rain since yesterday has reached 17.<\/p>\n

The effects of yesterday’s flood situation in Karachi are still visible on the city’s roads in the form of damaged vehicles and potholes.<\/p>\n

According to the Meteorological Department, 178 mm of rain was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadeed in the last 24 hours and 145 mm on University Road.<\/p>\n

After yesterday’s flood situation, water drainage is ongoing from major highways. Damaged vehicles are on the roads at Karsaz, Malir Halt, and other places. Rainwater has accumulated in the Old City area, Aram Bagh, Sindh High Court, Liaquatabad, University Road, and other areas.<\/p>\n
