{"id":84277,"date":"2025-08-28T15:14:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T10:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=84277"},"modified":"2025-08-28T15:14:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T10:14:20","slug":"electricity-prices-likely-to-decrease-for-consumers-across-country","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/electricity-prices-likely-to-decrease-for-consumers-across-country\/","title":{"rendered":"Electricity prices likely to decrease for consumers across country"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Electricity is likely to become cheaper for consumers across the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/pakistan-to-participate-in-pro-hockey-league\/\">country.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to sources, the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nepra-okays-two-new-solar-projects-for-lower-power-costs\/\">NEPRA<\/a> Authority has completed the hearing on the request of the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA).<\/p>\n<p>Sources say that electricity is likely to become cheaper by Rs 1.69 for consumers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, NEPRA will review the data and issue a decision in the form of a notification, and the price reduction will apply to consumers across the country, including K-Electric.<\/p>\n<p>Sources further say that the implementation of the price reduction will provide relief of up to Rs 23 billion on September bills.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Nepra has approved a reduction in electricity prices by Rs 1.89 per unit in the quarterly adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to reduce electricity prices in the quarterly adjustment has been sent to the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>According to the decision, this reduction was approved in the quarterly adjustment for April to June 2025. The reduction in electricity prices will apply to all DISCOs&#8217; consumers, including K-Electric.<\/p>\n<p>According to Nepra, the reduction in electricity prices will apply for the 3 months of August to October 2025, and electricity consumers will get a relief of Rs 55 billion 874 million from this reduction.<\/p>\n<p>The reduction in electricity prices will not apply to Lifeline and prepaid consumers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Electricity is likely to become cheaper for consumers across the country.
