ISLAMABAD: Construction of the ‘Marka-e-Haq Monument’<\/a> in Sector H-8 has commenced as a tribute to the bravery of Pakistan’s military forces, who successfully defended against Indian aggression in the four-day war in the early days of this May.<\/p>\n

The monument is being constructed at Pakistan Movement Park, which is in the process of being expanded and redesigned to provide it with a new face. The Capital Development Authority<\/a> (CDA) has transferred the land to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), which has already shifted heavy machinery and cranes to the site.<\/p>\n

Earth leveling is underway, while the dismantling of old buildings at the site is underway to accommodate the new project.<\/p>\n

The project is being executed on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the federal government will fully fund it, claimed officials of CDA. “The objective of this project is to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Shuhada and Ghazis of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos,” a senior official acknowledged.<\/p>\n

Though the final design has not yet been revealed, insiders said the monument will include a symbolic ‘wall that cannot be broken’ in reflection of Pakistan’s impenetrable and strong defence.<\/p>\n

The tallest national flag in the country, already positioned at the site, will still be included as part of the project, although its location may be modified.<\/p>\n

Pakistan Movement Park, which was originally constructed by CDA to depict the country’s history in pictorial form, has been neglected for years. The boundary wall is incomplete, and the marble work has not been polished or maintained. Faded image walls were razed on Thursday to be replaced with new, upgraded features as part of the development of the monument.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
