{"id":84443,"date":"2025-08-30T18:51:24","date_gmt":"2025-08-30T13:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=84443"},"modified":"2025-08-30T20:25:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T15:25:35","slug":"is-pta-set-to-block-devices-using-5-different-sims-in-one-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/is-pta-set-to-block-devices-using-5-different-sims-in-one-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Is PTA set to block devices using 5 different SIMs in one month?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/senate-committee-grills-pta-over-jazz-overcharging-concerns\/\"> (PTA)<\/a> has officially denied a social media claim of blocking mobile phones&#8217; IMEI for using five different <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/technology\/pta-warns-against-sim-misuse-check-block-unused-sims-now\/\">SIMs<\/a> in a month.<\/p>\n<p>A viral fake notification circulated on social media with the PTA logo claimed that using over five different SIMs in a single mobile device within one month would result in the IMEI being blocked and network services suspended.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompletely false and misleading,\u201d said PTA\u2019s Director of Communications, Zaib-un-Nisa.<\/p>\n<p>She also stressed that PTA only checks IMEI duplication and device cloning, not SIM usage per device.<\/p>\n<p>The authority takes action against questionable devices, such as disabling cloned phones, executing raids in conjunction with the FIA, and initiating public awareness campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the PTA&#8217;s official social media handles have identified the circulating message as fraudulent, warning the public not to believe or distribute unconfirmed material.<\/p>\n<p>The allegation that mobile phones would be prohibited from using more than five SIM cards in a month is absolutely unfounded and untrue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially denied a social media claim of blocking mobile phones&#8217; IMEI for using five different SIMs in a month.
