{"id":84625,"date":"2025-09-01T21:18:25","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T16:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=84625"},"modified":"2025-09-01T21:18:25","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T16:18:25","slug":"punjab-puts-9-districts-on-high-alert-due-to-high-flood-threat-in-sutlej","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-puts-9-districts-on-high-alert-due-to-high-flood-threat-in-sutlej\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab puts 9 districts on high alert due to high flood threat in Sutlej"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: India has warned Pakistan of the risk of<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pdma-warns-of-more-flooding-in-sutlej-after-india-release-water\/\"> high-level flooding<\/a> in the Sutlej River.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry of Water Resources, the Indian High Commission in Pakistan has formally informed about the possible flooding.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry said that severe flooding is likely in Harike downstream and Ferozepur downstream from 8 am on September 1, and an alert has been issued to the concerned authorities and provincial governments.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pdma-warns-of-more-flooding-in-sutlej-after-india-release-water\/\">PDMA<\/a>) Punjab has issued a warning and declared a high alert in nine districts.<\/p>\n<p>According to the PDMA, the flood wave due to the water released from India may affect Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar and Pakpattan, as well as Vehari, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Multan and Muzaffargarh.<\/p>\n<p>The PDMA has directed the deputy commissioners of all sensitive districts to immediately complete preparations to deal with any emergency effectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: India has warned Pakistan of the risk of high-level flooding in the Sutlej River.
