{"id":85087,"date":"2025-09-05T12:51:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T07:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=85087"},"modified":"2025-09-05T12:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T07:51:07","slug":"court-to-indict-bahria-town-founders-staff-officer-on-sept-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/court-to-indict-bahria-town-founders-staff-officer-on-sept-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Court to indict Bahria Town founder&#8217;s staff officer on Sept 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court on Friday handed out copies of the challan in a presumed <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/fia-books-armaghan-in-money-laundering-case\/\">money laundering case<\/a> against Khalilur Rehman.<\/p>\n<p>The case against the personal staff officer of<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nab-assures-safety-of-bahria-town-residents-properties-investments\/\"> Bahria Town<\/a> founder Malik Riaz has been adjourned until September 10.<\/p>\n<p>The case was presided over by Judge Nasr Minallah, who scheduled the next hearing for the indictment of the accused.<\/p>\n<p>The Money Laundering Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed the case, prosecuting Rehman for illegal remittance of money abroad on behalf of Malik Riaz&#8217;s Dubai property venture.<\/p>\n<p>Three people have been nominated in the case, as per the challan, including Mushtaq, Imran, and retired Colonel Khalilur Rehman.<\/p>\n<p>Copies of the challan were handed over to Rehman during Friday\u2019s hearing. The accused Imran was presented via video link, while Mushtaq is under the NAB custody.<\/p>\n<p>Both the accused are going to be produced in the court at the next hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Khalil Ur Rehman\u2019s unlawful financial activities include money laundering and the operation of\u00a0<em>Hawala<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Hundi<\/em>\u00a0networks purportedly used by Bahria Town for illicit fund transfers.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple FIRs have been registered against him, and he was arrested in connection with these criminal investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Substantial documentary and testimonial evidence has emerged indicating that\u00a0 Khalil Ur Rehman received funds amounting to billions of Pakistani rupees from Bahria Town accounts, without any lawful justification or legitimate business transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it has been established that Khalil Ur Rehman was engaged in corrupt practices, including the payment of unlawful financial inducements\/Kickbacks to various public officials, with the intent of securing undue benefits for Bahria Town.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court on Friday handed out copies of the challan in a presumed money laundering case against Khalilur Rehman.
