{"id":85702,"date":"2025-09-12T12:04:01","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T07:04:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=85702"},"modified":"2025-09-12T12:04:01","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T07:04:01","slug":"pmdc-reschedules-mdcat-2025-due-to-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-reschedules-mdcat-2025-due-to-floods\/","title":{"rendered":"PMDC reschedules MDCAT 2025 due to floods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-refutes-mdcat-fee-increase-opens-registration-for-test\/\">PMDC<\/a>) has announced to reschedule the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The decision has been taken in view of the current devastating situation of floods in the Country.<\/p>\n<p>The Test was earlier scheduled for October 5, 2025,\u00a0 which will now be held on October 26, 2025 (Sunday).<\/p>\n<p>The council stated that the decision was reached following discussion with representatives from all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.<\/p>\n<p>PMDC stated that the decision was made in the best interests of students and to promote fair educational opportunities for all.<\/p>\n<p>The development occurred when Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal directed the PMDC to alter the program.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the decision, the health minister stated that the action was taken in the greater benefit of pupils.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council\u00a0(PMDC) declared a big change in the medical entrance exam system with the introduction of a question bank for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The move is part of the Council\u2019s overall strategy to digitalise its functions and increase transparency.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a briefing in Islamabad, PMDC President Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj said that student registration and monitoring would be done by the Council, while question papers, exams, and marking would be given to public universities to guarantee impartiality.<\/p>\n<p>A new question bank for\u00a0MDCAT\u00a0has been developed on the consensus syllabus endorsed by all provinces. This initiative is being taken to end errors, regional issues, and ensure equal preparation opportunities for students across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Over 97,000 candidates have so far registered for MDCAT 2025, with the figure likely to touch 150,000 by the end of registration.
