LAHORE: Ghaneem Irfan Warraich, a young law student from Sialkot, represented Pakistan at the Harvard Project for Asian & International Relations Asia Conference (HPAIR ACONF 2025), held at the University of Tokyo, Japan, from 20\u201324 August 2025.<\/p>\n
Ghaneem, who was born in Sialkot and completed his matriculation and intermediate education at Military College Jhelum, is currently pursuing an LLB at Punjab University, Lahore.<\/p>\n
His selection to attend HPAIR\u2019s Asia Conference placed him among aspiring leaders, students, and young professionals from around the world who gathered to discuss pressing economic, political, and social challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1991, HPAIR is an internationally recognized student-led organisation that creates forums for cross-cultural exchange and professional development. Since its inception, the organisation has hosted dozens of conferences across the region, engaging more than 40,000 students and young professionals.<\/p>\n
The Asia Conference is a five-day annual event that combines keynote addresses, panel discussions, executive seminars, and interactive workshops to provide delegates with multidisciplinary perspectives on topics ranging from technology and sustainability to healthcare and global policy.<\/p>\n
HPAIR\u2019s 33rd Asia Conference opened at Hotel East 21 Foyer in Tokyo, where delegates completed registration and were formally welcomed by Ms. Yuriko Koike, the first female Governor of Tokyo.<\/p>\n
The opening programme included a traditional Japanese performance and opportunities for countries to showcase their cultural heritage. Subsequent days at the University of Tokyo featured sessions led by leading figures from various fields, followed by a cultural night where delegates presented national dress, performances, and regional cuisine.<\/p>\n
Mid-week sessions emphasised leadership and innovation, while a dedicated networking session fostered inter-regional dialogue.<\/p>\n
The conference concluded with an Impact Challenge, during which delegates formed interdisciplinary teams to propose actionable solutions to real-world problems, and a closing ceremony highlighted by remarks from Mr. Takashima Ryosuke, Japan\u2019s youngest serving mayor, who commended the delegates\u2019 contributions and encouraged youth leadership.<\/p>\n
Ghaneem\u2019s participation at HPAIR ACONF 2025 marks a notable milestone for a young Pakistani legal professional on the international stage.
