{"id":8641,"date":"2022-06-08T12:26:11","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T12:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=8641"},"modified":"2022-06-08T12:26:11","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T12:26:11","slug":"shc-allows-dua-zehra-to-decide-her-fate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/shc-allows-dua-zehra-to-decide-her-fate\/","title":{"rendered":"SHC allows Dua Zehra to decide her fate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Wednesday allowed teenager Dua Zehra \u2014 who had mysteriously gone missing from Karachi in April but later declared that she had run away from her home to marry 21-year-old Zaheer Ahmed \u2014 to decide where she wants to go, with her parents or husband.<\/p>\n<p>In a three-page written order, Justice Junaid Ghaffar said the court reached the verdict in line with the testimonies. &#8220;In light of all the evidence, this is not a case of kidnapping.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/dua-zehra-age-verification-tests-completed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dua Zehra age verification tests completed<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;the alleged\/minor Dua E Zahra Kazmi, pursuant to her statement on Oath and Age Certificate is set at liberty to decide as to whom she intends to reside and go along,&#8221; the order read.<\/p>\n<p>In the order, the court also said that it has decided to dispose of Zehra&#8217;s father&#8217;s \u2014 Mehdi Ali Kazmi \u2014 petition for her recovery as the case of his daughter was not of kidnapping.<\/p>\n<p>For the production of Dua before the Lahore High Court later this week, the SHC said the Sindh Police is at liberty to produce it if required.
