PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Secretariat\u00a0<\/a>has prepared the election schedule for the election of the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n

Sources said that the schedule for the election of the Chief Minister will be released soon.<\/p>\n

According to the schedule, the nomination papers will be submitted at 3 pm.<\/p>\n

The nomination papers will be scrutinized immediately after their completion.<\/p>\n

Sources said that the final list of candidates will be released at 5 pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Sources said that the election of the Chief Minister of KP will be held on Monday, October 13 at 10 am through a show of hands.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government dropped the idea of \u200b\u200ba no-confidence motion against the outgoing Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, while the KP Governor House had confirmed Gandapur\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n

A meeting of constitutional experts was held in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat in Peshawar in which it was decided that the no-confidence motion cannot go ahead.<\/p>\n

According to sources, Gandapur has already submitted his resignation, rendering the motion against him ineffective.<\/p>\n

Assembly Secretariat sources said, \u201cGiven that the Chief Minister has resigned, a no-confidence motion cannot be moved.\u201d They added that if the PTI presents it in the assembly, the opposition can challenge it in court.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by the KP Governor House, Ali Amin Gandapur\u2019s resignation was officially received at 2:30 pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Governor House spokesperson said, \u201cAfter complete verification and legal scrutiny, the resignation will be processed as per the constitutional procedure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The matter will be handled transparently, fulfilling all constitutional and legal requirements.<\/p>\n

The resignation letter, handwritten by Gandapur, was delivered to the Governor House by the Chief Minister\u2019s Adviser on Anti-Corruption, Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Mosaddiq Abbasi. The caretaker of the Governor House received the resignation and provided an official receipt.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the PTI on Saturday issued a strong warning against any unconstitutional move in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and reiterated its full support for Sohail Afridi, who was nominated by PTI founder Imran Khan for the post of KP chief minister.<\/p>\n

Addressing a joint press conference in Peshawar, PTI leaders \u2013 Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and PTI-KP President Junaid Akbar \u2013 stressed on upholding democratic principles and respecting the province\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n
