{"id":88366,"date":"2025-10-14T21:10:44","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T16:10:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=88366"},"modified":"2025-10-14T21:50:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T16:50:14","slug":"electricity-prices-have-been-increased-across-country","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/latest-news\/electricity-prices-have-been-increased-across-country\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt announces increase in electricity prices nationwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Electricity has become more expensive for the entire country, including Karachi, under the monthly fuel price adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/nepra-reduces-electricity-prices-in-monthly-quarterly-adjustments\/\">Nepra<\/a>) has issued a notification to increase the electricity price by 8 paise per unit for August.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notification, the increase will also apply to electricity consumers as per government policy guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The notification states that the recovery from electricity consumers will be made in the October bills.<\/p>\n<p>CPPA had demanded an increase of 19 paise per unit in the August adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Nepra announced a reduction in electricity prices for July.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Nepra notification, electricity rates for DISCOs have been reduced by Rs 1.79 per unit for July under the monthly Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA).<\/p>\n<p>The decision will apply to all DISCOs and K-Electric customers, except Lifeline, prepaid customers and electric vehicle charging stations.<\/p>\n<p>The notification said that consumers will get this relief in the September bills. The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had earlier requested a reduction of Rs 1.69 per unit for the July adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>The reduction in fuel adjustment charges will provide relief to consumers of about Rs 24.5 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Electricity has become more expensive for the entire country, including Karachi, under the monthly fuel price adjustment.
