Nobody can pass such laws shamelessly \u2014 as this government did,\u201d the PTI chairman told a press conference as he announced approaching the Supreme Court against the NAB amendments.<\/p>\n<p>Khan \u2014 explaining how the leaders of the two big political parties, PPP and PML-N would be \u201csaved\u201d after the changes \u2014 said the government amended section 14 of the law, which now states that a person will only be held accountable for the \u201cmoney left in the fake accounts (when a person is arrested)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pti-led-govt-jacked-up-economy-of-pakistan-imran-khan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PTI-led govt jacked-up economy of Pakistan: Imran Khan<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The PTI chairman said under the current tax laws, a person has to provide the trail of his money as the onus lies on them, not the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).<\/p>\n<p>But Khan said after the NAB law amendments, the watchdog will have to prove whether a person accumulated wealth illicitly \u2014 as the government has shifted the burden from the person to the watchdog.<\/p>\n<p>The second change, Khan said was made to the assets beyond means \u2014 section 9 \u2014 of the NAB law, which will provide relief to \u201cmajor government leaders\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I am a public office holder earning an income of Rs50, then I will have to explain why I have assets worth Rs100 and where did I get the extra Rs50 from.
