{"id":88617,"date":"2025-10-17T16:52:23","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T11:52:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=88617"},"modified":"2025-10-17T16:52:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T11:52:23","slug":"electricity-bills-waived-in-flood-affected-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/electricity-bills-waived-in-flood-affected-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"Electricity bills waived in flood-affected areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Electricity bills for one month in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/opinion\/how-is-transparent-hands-fighting-prevalent-diseases-in-flood-affected-areas\/\">flood-affected areas<\/a> have been waived by the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>Power Division sources say that the government has waived the electricity bills of people living in flood-affected areas for August.<\/p>\n<p>According to Power Division sources, bills of all categories of domestic consumers have been waived, and the bills of domestic consumers who have paid their August bills have been adjusted.<\/p>\n<p>Power Division sources say that bills of commercial and other categories have been deferred until December, and the deferred bills for August will be collected in 6-month installments.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/nepra-reduces-electricity-prices-in-monthly-quarterly-adjustments\/\">Nepra<\/a>) announced a reduction in electricity prices.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Nepra notification, electricity rates for DISCOs have been reduced by Rs 1.79 per unit for July under the monthly Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA).<\/p>\n<p>The decision will be applicable to all DISCOs and K-Electric customers, except Lifeline, prepaid customers and electric vehicle charging stations.<\/p>\n<p>The notification said that consumers will get this relief in the September bills. The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had earlier requested a reduction of Rs 1.69 per unit for the July adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>The reduction in fuel adjustment charges will provide relief to consumers of about Rs 24.5 billion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Electricity bills for one month in flood-affected areas have been waived by the federal government.
