There was no international tour in 2021, possibly because of COVID-19 restrictions.

In 2022, the traveler went to the UAE (Dubai), the Philippines, Spain, and the Netherlands. The next year, the trips consisted of Turkey, the UK, the Maldives, and Georgia.

In 2024, the vlogger visited Europe and the Middle East, going to Saudi Arabia (several times, possibly for Hajj/Umrah or events), Croatia, Italy, Portugal, Hungary, France, Belgium (for the Tomorrowland music festival), and Switzerland. In 2025, travel resumed with trips to Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Saudi Arabia, France, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

Although there was proof of these excursions, the vlogger’s 2020 tax return reflected merely Rs. 490,800 of income, Rs. 390,000 of expenses, and net assets of Rs. 1,090,800.

For 2021, the income reported was Rs. 541,880, expenses Rs. 385,000, and net assets Rs. 1,232,680, given that there was no travel owing to pandemic restrictions.

In 2022, income declared was Rs. 564,040, expenditure was Rs. 396,000, and net worth was approximately Rs. 1,387,720. For 2023, income declared was Rs. 784,600, expenses were Rs. 480,000, and net worth was Rs. 1,672,320. The return in 2024 registered Rs. 816,800 as income, Rs. 504,000, and a net worth of Rs. 1,929,120, despite taking several foreign trips.

The FBR maintains that this trend reflects substantial under-declaration of income.

In another high-profile case, the Lifestyle Monitoring Cell found Rs. 180.5 million in hidden assets of a member of a political South Punjab family. Publicly available records indicated that the person owned and operated four luxury cars, none of which were mentioned in their own or their father’s tax returns.

The property also contained various assets that consisted of a Lexus LX 570 flagship luxury SUV (2019 model, approximate market value Rs. 80 million), a Toyota Fortuner Legender SUV (Rs. 15 million), a Suzuki Hayabusa (2021 high-performance superbike, Rs. 5.5 million), and a BMW i7 electric luxury sedan (Rs. 80 million).

Tax documents indicate the person was registered as a taxpayer on January 12, 2023. On the 2023 tax return, just two motorcycles were reported: a BMW M 1000 RR (Rs. 14.2 million) and a BMW R 1250 GS (Rs. 9.8 million), with a combined total of Rs. 31.28 million.

In 2024, only the BMW M 1000 RR was on the list, while the BMW 1250 GS was not included. FBR investigators assert that the taxpayer has declared mere fractions of their real assets and has not declared the sources of the money they used to acquire the concealed cars, showing manifest tax evasion.

The third case includes an estimated Rs. 624 million of hidden assets. The FBR determined that the taxpayer had acquired and used 19 vehicles, which consisted of sports cars, luxury SUVs, off-road trucks, motorcycles, and an ATV.

The vehicles consisted of a Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray (2020, Rs. 80 million), a Yamaha Raptor 700R all-terrain vehicle (Rs. 6.5 million), a Harley-Davidson Pan America adventure touring bike (Rs. 15 million), a Honda CD 200 Road Master (Rs. 500,000), a Chevrolet Silverado (Rs. 40 million), two Toyota Hilux Revo double-cab pickups (Rs. 40 million total), a Toyota FJ Cruiser (Rs. 15 million), a Ford F-150 Raptor (Rs. 70 million), a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series (Rs. 5 million), a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series pickup truck (Rs. 4 million), a Toyota 4Runner SUV (Rs. 60 million), a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series (Rs. 90 million), a Range Rover (Rs. 80 million), an Audi Q7 (Rs. 30 million), a Toyota Tundra (Rs. 25 million), a Toyota Tacoma (Rs. 15 million), a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series (Rs. 40 million), a Toyota Land Cruiser 100 Series (Rs. 25 million), and a Mercedes-Benz sedan (Rs. 9 million).

The FBR states that none of these luxury cars were reported in the asset statements of the taxpayer. The chief of the Lifestyle Monitoring Cell stated that proceedings are on against suspected tax evaders, but their identity cannot be made public according to income tax laws.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has revealed over 20 cases where people boasting luxury lifestyles on social media, such as high-end cars and frequent foreign travel, have reported minimal to no income or assets in their tax returns.
