{"id":89179,"date":"2025-10-24T14:48:59","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T09:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=89179"},"modified":"2025-10-24T14:48:59","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T09:48:59","slug":"interior-ministry-notifies-ban-on-tlp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/interior-ministry-notifies-ban-on-tlp\/","title":{"rendered":"Interior Ministry notifies ban on TLP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/interior-ministry-informs-national-assembly-on-alcohol-sales-in-islamabad\/\"> Interior Ministry<\/a> has issued a notification banning Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) following the approval from the federal cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>Following the Interior Ministry\u2019s notification, TLP has now been declared a banned party.<\/p>\n<p>The notification states that the federal government has solid reasons that TLP is involved in terrorist activities.<\/p>\n<p>The notification states that, according to the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, TLP has been included in the list of banned parties under the First Schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The notification of the ban on Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan has also been sent to all provinces and relevant institutions, including the Ameer TLP and the Election Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Sources say that the Law Ministry has also initiated legal action to ban TLP.<\/p>\n<p>After consulting the Law Ministry and the Attorney General, a reference will be filed in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court will review the evidence on the reference like a criminal trial and decide on the ban.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Constitution, if a political party acts against the security and unity of the country, it can be banned.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the ban on the political party can be imposed under Clause 2 of Article 17.<\/p>\n<p>According to Article 17, the ban on a political party is not confirmed until the Supreme Court gives a decision.<\/p>\n<p>The government sends a reference to the Supreme Court within 15 days after the ban decision.<\/p>\n<p>The ban on a political party registered under the Constitution will be fully implemented with the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision.<\/p>\n<p>It should be remembered that a few days ago, the Punjab cabinet approved the ban on TLP and sent its summary to the federal government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has issued a notification banning Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) following the approval from the federal cabinet.
