{"id":89322,"date":"2025-10-26T12:31:33","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T07:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=89322"},"modified":"2025-10-26T12:36:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-26T07:36:45","slug":"mdcat-2025-being-held-across-pakistan-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/mdcat-2025-being-held-across-pakistan-today\/","title":{"rendered":"MDCAT 2025 being held across Pakistan today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/how-to-download-mdcat-2025-roll-number-slips\/\">Medical and Dental College Admission Test<\/a> (MDCAT) 2025 will be conducted nationwide on Sunday. 140,125 candidates are enrolled nationwide to take the test.<\/p>\n<p>Sukkur IBA Vice Chancellor Asif Ahmed Sheikh said that the candidates have to arrive by 6:30 am, while the test is likely to start between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. Test papers will be opened at 8:15 am in all the centres.<\/p>\n<p>Each centre would have a varying number of candidates, and complete security measures, including signal and metal detectors, have been installed. Sukkur IBA Testing Service (STS) has assigned officers and focal persons so that there is transparency and effective coordination in the process.<\/p>\n<p>The MDCAT will be conducted in nine cities and ten centres of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur. Thousands of students would be sitting for the test at each location.<\/p>\n<p>The question paper will include 15% easy questions, 70% moderate questions, and 15% difficult questions, according to Sukkur IBA.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the number of female candidates is over twice that of male applicants. In Karachi alone, 10,296 candidates have applied, including 4,003 women and 1,197 men in NED University, and 3,764 women and 1,332 men in Dow University. A total of 32,917 Sindh students are taking the exam.<\/p>\n<p>Security at testing centres comprises biometric authentication, metal detectors, and police deployment. Mobiles, smartwatches, and other electronic items are not allowed. STS will bring all stationery and materials for testing.<\/p>\n<p>Original CNIC or passport is required by candidates, while candidates under the age of 18 must carry a Juvenile Card along with their mark sheets of matriculation and intermediate. Police, traffic officers, and emergency services are deployed at all sites.<\/p>\n<p>Two test centres have been established in Islamabad \u2014 one at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (PIMS building) and the other at Bahria University.<\/p>\n<p>The MDCAT will be held through universities, whereas the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-makes-pre-hoc-review-mandatory-for-mdcat\/\">Pakistan Medical and Dental Council<\/a> (PMDC) shall not monitor the process itself.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the universities that administer the exam has been given access to the National Item Bank and is mandated to observe strictly PMDC standards while setting, preparing, and printing the papers.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-hoc scrutiny of question papers is to be done by universities in order to eliminate questions falling outside the syllabus, ensure confidentiality, and open the papers in the presence of official witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>Admit cards were handed over to candidates a week prior to the exam, and results will be officially declared within a week of the test.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 39,981 candidates are taking the MDCAT in seven districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa \u2014 Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Lower Dir, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Abbottabad. The three-hour examination will start at 9:00am.<\/p>\n<p>For transparency&#8217;s sake, tight security and a new monitoring system have been adopted, with Section 144 implemented.<\/p>\n<p>Mobile phones, smartwatches, earbuds, calculators, and electronic gadgets are prohibited.
