LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled a comprehensive package of measures to enhance health, security, and digital inclusion for special children<\/a> across the province.<\/p>\n

The government will initiate Punjab’s first-ever health checkup program for students in special education schools. Over 35,600 children will be health-checked, including eye and dental checkups, besides screening for other diseases.<\/p>\n

More than 20,000 students will get first-aid treatment on the spot, and 9,000 will be referred to district hospitals, tehsil headquarters, and health centers for proper treatment. Five 5,000 students in big cities will undergo specialty treatment at big hospitals.<\/p>\n

The officials also stated that a recent door-to-door admission campaign for special children resulted in over 5,000 new admissions in Punjab.<\/p>\n

To encourage digital skills, the CM Punjab Freelancer Program<\/a> has added design, YouTube content production, social media, and e-commerce courses to special education centers.<\/p>\n

Ten new computer labs have been sanctioned, and eight labs will be upgraded with the latest equipment. To date, 18 master trainers and 1,760 students have been trained, and the top 50 students will be provided with laptops for exceptional performance.<\/p>\n

To ensure students’ security, the government has sanctioned the installation of 4,381 CCTV cameras in special education centers. In the initial phase, 989 cameras will be installed in 142 centers of Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, and DG Khan divisions.<\/p>\n

The second phase will be implemented with 158 centers in Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Sahiwal divisions by next May.<\/p>\n

All the surveillance cameras will be connected to a central monitoring center in Lahore for real-time monitoring. In addition to providing protection to students, the footage will also be used to analyze and learn about student behavior for therapeutic enhancements.<\/p>\n

Officials have assured that 3,450 cameras will become functional in November 2025, maintaining the safety and welfare of special students in Punjab.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
