{"id":90052,"date":"2025-11-01T18:39:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-01T13:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=90052"},"modified":"2025-11-01T18:39:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-01T13:39:09","slug":"punjab-abolishes-pension-system-for-new-employees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/punjab-abolishes-pension-system-for-new-employees\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab abolishes pension system for new employees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: To ease the financial burden on the public exchequer, the Punjab government has decided to give recruits a lump-sum pay package instead of a basic pay scale.<\/p>\n<p>These steps are in part due to a major policy shift by the government to cut <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nadra-announces-temporary-suspension-of-few-services\/\">pension liabilities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A latest notification has decided that the policy would apply only to recruits and the ones who were appointed based on the 2018 law.<\/p>\n<p>The new decision is part of a broader strategy that aims to minimize the expenses incurred by the provincial government regarding pensions.<\/p>\n<p>To give this change its due legal form, the Punjab government has issued a new ordinance, entitled the \u201cPunjab Regularization of Service Cancellation Ordinance 2025,\u201d which shall come into effect from October 31, 2025.
