{"id":91159,"date":"2025-11-13T16:15:24","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T11:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=91159"},"modified":"2025-11-13T17:22:25","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T12:22:25","slug":"cjp-yahya-afridi-summons-full-court-meeting-to-discuss-27th-constitutional-amendments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/cjp-yahya-afridi-summons-full-court-meeting-to-discuss-27th-constitutional-amendments\/","title":{"rendered":"CJP Yahya Afridi summons full court meeting to discuss 27th constitutional amendments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/cjp-yahya-afridi-sc-judges-bid-farewell-to-registrar-saleem-khan\/\">Yahya Afridi<\/a> has called a full court meeting tomorrow before Friday prayers, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p>The full court meeting will discuss 27 constitutional amendments.<\/p>\n<p>At least three judges of the Supreme Court had written a letter for the full court meeting.<\/p>\n<p>This development came to light when Justice Salahuddin Panhor\u2019s letter to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, in which he requested to convene a full court meeting, was made public.<\/p>\n<p>The letter said that a full court meeting should be convened to review the constitutional amendment clause by clause and that the Law and Justice Commission and the Judicial Policy-Making Committee should also be included in this process.<\/p>\n<p>The letter also said that the 27th Amendment could affect the balance of powers, and as required by the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the responsibility to protect it.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Salahuddin Panhor further said in his letter that history will not remember our convenience but the courage of our decisions; therefore, it is imperative to convene an immediate full court meeting to protect public trust.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has called a full court meeting tomorrow before Friday prayers, according to sources.
