{"id":91320,"date":"2025-11-15T15:33:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T10:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=91320"},"modified":"2025-11-15T15:33:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T10:33:18","slug":"presidential-assent-given-to-all-three-armed-forces-amendment-bills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/presidential-assent-given-to-all-three-armed-forces-amendment-bills\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidential assent given to all three armed forces amendment bills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: President <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pm-shehbaz-briefs-president-asif-ali-zardari-on-pakistans-response\/\">Asif Ali Zardari<\/a> approved the Army, Navy, and Air Force Amendment Bills.<\/p>\n<p>The President approved the Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill 2025, which was passed by both houses of parliament.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, President Asif Ali Zardari also approved the Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Pakistan Navy (Amendment) Bill 2025.<\/p>\n<p>After the approval of President Asif Ali Zardari, these three amendment bills have become part of the law.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Army Act, the Army Chief will now also be the Chief of Defense Forces, the term of office will be 5 years, while the post of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee has been abolished.<\/p>\n<p>The 27th Constitutional Amendment also approved that the post of Field Marshal will be for life.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Army Act, the Army Chief, as the Chief of Defense Forces, will resume his term after the notification is issued.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the National Assembly had passed amendments to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/constitutional-bench-bins-plea-challenging-army-chiefs-tenure-extension\/\">Pakistan Army Act 1952<\/a>, the Pakistan Air Force Act 1953, and the Pakistan Navy Ordinance 1961 by a majority vote.<\/p>\n<p>The session of the National Assembly began under the chairmanship of the Speaker, in which the bill to amend the Army Act 1952 was presented.<\/p>\n<p>Defense Minister Khawaja Asif moved the bill, on which the Speaker took a vote, and the House passed it by a majority vote.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the bill to amend the Pakistan Air Force Act 1953 and the bill to amend the Pakistan Navy Ordinance 1961 were also presented by Khawaja Asif in the House, and these were also passed by the members of the Assembly by voting by a majority vote.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari approved the Army, Navy, and Air Force Amendment Bills.
