{"id":92348,"date":"2025-11-28T14:57:43","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T09:57:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=92348"},"modified":"2025-11-28T14:57:43","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T09:57:43","slug":"punjab-govt-ban-petrol-powered-motorcycles-and-rickshaws","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-govt-ban-petrol-powered-motorcycles-and-rickshaws\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab govt ban Petrol-powered motorcycles and rickshaws"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has decided to impose restrictions on the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/wheat-production-competition-2025-26-announced-in-punjab\/\">production<\/a> of petrol-powered motorcycles and rickshaws.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting with the smog control committee, during which it was decided to ban the production of petrol-powered motorcycles and rickshaws across the province.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the meeting decided that only electric and hybrid vehicles and electric motorcycles will be purchased for the government department in the Punjab.<\/p>\n<p>A complete ban was also imposed on washing vehicles with water at the domestic level.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also approved the appointment of workshops under the Public-Private Partnership framework to conduct regular testing of vehicles emitting smoke above permissible standards.<\/p>\n<p>She said that it is Punjab\u2019s first emission testing system, which has tested over 300,000 vehicles so far.<\/p>\n<p>A smog war room has been established at the Punjab Safe City Authority, where 8500 CCTV cameras are used to monitor.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised the entire team, acknowledged the battle against child labor at brick kilns, and expressed satisfaction with the environmental improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has decided to impose restrictions on the production of petrol-powered motorcycles and rickshaws.
