KARACHI: Renowned religious scholar and former chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Muneebur Rehman<\/a>, has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with dengue fever in Karachi on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Rehman was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi, where he is currently receiving medical care. Hospital sources said that his condition is being monitored by medical specialists.<\/p>\n

Political and social figures, along with religious leaders, have expressed concern and prayed for his early recovery.<\/p>\n

Mufti Muneebur Rehman served as the chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee from October 1998 to December 2020 and remains one of Pakistan\u2019s most prominent religious scholars.<\/p>\n

During his tenure, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman became a widely respected figure in the country for his religious guidance and leadership in Islamic affairs.<\/p>\n

On October 30, 2025, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif handed over the management of sealed mosques to Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman following the federal government\u2019s decision to ban Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).<\/p>\n

Health officials have once again warned that dengue spreads through the bite of an infected mosquito, with larvae thriving in clean, stagnant water.<\/p>\n
