FBR<\/a>) has told the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance that customs duty, mobile levy, regulatory duty, sales tax and withholding tax are levied on mobile phones according to different conditions.<\/p>\nThe FBR has said that the actual price of the phone will be determined under the valuation rolling, while if the valuation of a model is not available, the price will be determined based on the import data of the last 90 days.<\/p>\n
Under this policy, mobile phones worth $30 or less will be subject to a mobile levy of Rs100, a regulatory duty of Rs300, an 18 percent sales tax and a withholding tax of Rs70. Phones worth $30 to $100 will be subject to a mobile levy of Rs200, a regulatory duty of Rs3,000, an 18 percent sales tax and a withholding tax of Rs930. Mobile phones worth $100 to $200 will be subject to a mobile levy of Rs600, a regulatory duty of Rs7,500, an 18 percent sales tax and a withholding tax of Rs970.<\/p>\n
While phones priced between $200 and $350 will have to pay a mobile levy of Rs1,800, a regulatory duty of Rs11,000, an 18 percent sales tax and a withholding tax of Rs5,000. Phones priced between $350 and $500 will have a mobile levy of Rs4,000, a regulatory duty of Rs15,000, an 18 percent sales tax and a withholding tax of Rs5,000. And the tax on mobile phones priced above $500 is the highest \u2014 a mobile levy of Rs8,000 is applicable, but if the price exceeds $700, this levy reaches Rs16,000, along with a regulatory duty of Rs22,000, a 25 percent sales tax and a withholding tax of Rs11,500.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
