The Punjab government has approved a plan to provide private university students with laptops.<\/p>\n<p>The Higher Education Department reported that this would commence with the distribution of 10,000 laptops among students of private institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The project has already kicked off, and it has been reported that it will help close the gap between students in government and private universities.<\/p>\n<p>The authorities announced that no changes would be made to the merit criteria for applicants of the Punjab Laptop Scheme. The rules would remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>Under these conditions, students should be studying in a private college in Punjab. Also, their performance in studies should be very good. A minimum of 70% marks or equivalent CGPA in the last exam has been set.<\/p>\n<p>Now, students who received a laptop in an earlier phase are not eligible. This project also ensures that it maintains reserved quotas for female students, students with disabilities, as well as those from low-income backgrounds.
