{"id":94262,"date":"2025-12-16T18:27:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-16T13:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=94262"},"modified":"2025-12-16T18:27:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T13:27:13","slug":"punjab-govt-launches-door-to-door-insulin-supply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/punjab-govt-launches-door-to-door-insulin-supply\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab govt launches door-to-door insulin supply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The door-to-door <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/cm-punjab-maryam-launches-free-insulin-program-heres-how-to-apply\/\">insulin service<\/a> has formally been initiated in Rawalpindi, as registration of diabetes patients has started in the region as part of the healthcare initiative of the Punjab government.<\/p>\n<p>As per the District Health Authority, the insulin has already reached the homes of 35 registered Type-1 diabetes patients. Such a project is conducted to ensure that the insulin reaches the patients continually, as it is the only means for them to survive.<\/p>\n<p>According to health experts, an awareness campaign is also being carried out. The aim is to make the general public aware of diabetes. &#8220;Type 1 Diabetes is a condition where the body stops producing insulin.<\/p>\n<p>Insulin is a hormonal substance that helps turn blood sugar into energy. Without that insulin, blood sugar levels go high and can be dangerous,&#8221; said Dr. Mahaboob Khan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActually, Type-2 diabetes can be managed by controlling one&#8217;s diet and taking regular exercise. Moreover, one does not necessarily require injections of insulin regularly if he or she is a Type-2 diabetic,\u201d said District Health Officer (Preventive) Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Jawad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are conducting patient identification, validation, registration, and the distribution of insulin strictly according to the standard operating procedures by our health department teams,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The monitoring of the cold chain and the maintenance of records are also being ensured for the door-to-door insulin distribution process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The door-to-door insulin service has formally been initiated in Rawalpindi, as registration of diabetes patients has started in the region as part of the healthcare initiative of the Punjab government.
