ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed January 21 for hearing the petition to close the X account<\/a> of PTI founder Imran Khan.<\/p>\n

The IHC has directed the National Cyber \u200b\u200bCrime Control Agency (NCCIA), PTA, PTI founder, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to submit their responses.<\/p>\n

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the Islamabad High Court has issued a written order of the previous hearing on the petition of citizen Ghulam Murtaza, in which it has been requested to declare the posts from the X account of the PTI founder during his imprisonment as illegal and remove them.<\/p>\n

The petition has taken the position that the posts made by a convicted prisoner from the official account during his imprisonment are illegal and malicious.<\/p>\n

The NCCIA and PTA should be ordered to investigate to identify who is running this account during his imprisonment in jail.<\/p>\n

The petition further stated that these criminal and illegal posts should be blocked, and orders should be given to remove them from social media platforms.<\/p>\n

In his response to the court notice, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail denied that the X account of the founder of PTI was operated from the prison and took the position that the X account of the founder of PTI was not being operated from the prison but from outside the prison.<\/p>\n

The Superintendent of Adiala Jail said that mobile and internet facilities are not available inside the prison of the founder of PTI.<\/p>\n

He is only provided with facilities as per the prison rules or court orders.<\/p>\n

Any prohibited item, including a mobile, is not allowed under the prison rules. The founder of PTI does not have any prohibited item including a mobile.<\/p>\n

Mobile phone signal jammers are also installed inside Adiala Jail; mobile signals are blocked in the adjacent area inside and outside the prison.<\/p>\n

The Superintendent of Adiala Jail further said in his response that Prison Rule 265 prevents the imprisoned founder of PTI from political discussions.<\/p>\n

During the jail trial, the founder is met by his family and lawyers. Prison visitors engage in political discussions with the prisoner, violating the law.<\/p>\n
