{"id":97244,"date":"2026-01-12T18:32:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T13:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=97244"},"modified":"2026-01-12T18:32:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T13:32:18","slug":"trump-declares-himself-as-interim-president-of-venezuela","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/trump-declares-himself-as-interim-president-of-venezuela\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump declares himself as Interim President of Venezuela"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON, DC: In an interesting twist to the Venezuelan political crisis, US President <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/president-trump-weighs-military-action-against-iran\/\">Donald Trump<\/a> has declared himself the \u2018Interim President of Venezuela\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has posted a photo on his social media platform, Truth Social, in which he wrote that he is the interim president of Venezuela from January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This photo was created in a style similar to a Wikipedia page; however, there is no such post on the real Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s post comes against the backdrop of the current crisis in Venezuela, which began when the US military arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife during a military operation and took them to New York.<\/p>\n<p>Maduro is facing charges of drug trafficking and other crimes, which he is facing in a New York court.<\/p>\n<p>After Maduro\u2019s arrest in Venezuela, the country\u2019s Supreme Court appointed Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as interim president.<\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez has justified his position and called for Maduro&#8217;s release, and has offered to negotiate with the United States for cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said in a statement after Maduro&#8217;s arrest that the United States would temporarily take over the administration of Venezuela and would seek a safe and appropriate transitional arrangement in the next phase.<\/p>\n<p>According to Trump, during this time, he would sell Venezuela&#8217;s oil resources on the world market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON, DC: In an interesting twist to the Venezuelan political crisis, US President Donald Trump has declared himself the \u2018Interim President of Venezuela\u2019.
