A six-member committee was created by the federal cabinet to look into the visa clearance system, and the Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, was made its chairman.<\/p>\n<p>The committee consists of the interior, finance, and climate change ministers, and the secretaries of law and interior. The Interior Ministry will assist with the secretarial work.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will propose its recommendations in 14 days. By and large, the officials said, the main aim is to make the visa application process easier, quicker, and more secure.<\/p>\n<p>This move comes as a result of the endorsement of a new visa clearance system that is intended to speed up the processing time, thwart the use of fake travel documents, and make the organization of international immigration more compliant.<\/p>\n<p>Government sources pointed out that the reforms are aimed at illegal migration and improving the transparency of Pakistan&#8217;s visa system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The federal government has unveiled a plan to make things easier and more open regarding the visa process for the citizens of Pakistan.
