Government officials are considering designating Friday, February 4, as an extra holiday.<\/p>\n<p>It would thus become a part of the holiday celebrations together with Kashmir Day on February 5 and the weekend on February 6\u20137. According to the officials, the additional day would be instrumental in carrying out the Basant celebrations safely and enjoyably.<\/p>\n<p>It aims at lessening the flow of traffic and restricting the city&#8217;s motorcycle movement to necessary cases only. Basant celebrations are to be held on February 6, 7, and 8, which is considered a great opportunity for the people to celebrate the kite festival with more time.<\/p>\n<p>If the proposal gets the green light, then the people of Lahore would be able to enjoy a four-day break composed of a public holiday, a weekend, and festival days, and they could even consider taking the whole week off.<\/p>\n<p>The authorities, however, are going to make the final decision announcement soon.
