{"id":97886,"date":"2026-01-20T15:48:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T10:48:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=97886"},"modified":"2026-01-20T15:48:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T10:48:14","slug":"lahore-administration-enforces-motorcycle-safety-rods-ahead-of-basant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lahore-administration-enforces-motorcycle-safety-rods-ahead-of-basant\/","title":{"rendered":"Lahore administration enforces motorcycle safety rods ahead of basant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The city administration has announced <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/motorway-closure-due-to-dense-fog-for-safety-measures\/\">safety measures<\/a> amid the three-day Basant festival, which will be held next month.<\/p>\n<p>One of the important decisions among these measures is related to motorcyclists, under which it is mandatory to install safety rods on all motorcycles during Basant.<\/p>\n<p>Lahore Commissioner Maryam Khan said, while presiding over a meeting in which kite flying associations, police officers and district administration officials participated, that \u201cSafe Basant\u201d will be celebrated on February 6, 7, and 8 only within the limits of Lahore district.<\/p>\n<p>According to the commissioner, under the Kite Flying Ordinance 2025, motorcycles without safety rods will not be allowed to ply on the city roads during the three-day festival.<\/p>\n<p>The administration will set up 100 road safety camps across Lahore, where about 1 million safety rods are planned to be installed.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said that these camps will have the capacity to install safety rods on 50,000 to 60,000 motorcycles daily. Khan clarified that a complete ban on kite flying will remain in place till February 6.<\/p>\n<p>She further said that the manufacturing of kites and related equipment will be allowed only within the Lahore district, while the sale of kites will start from February 1 and continue till February 8.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner warned that strict action will be taken in case of violation. The meeting was informed that 204 cases have been registered against illegal kite flying so far.<\/p>\n<p>Maryam Khan said that only those manufacturers, traders, and sellers will be able to operate who are registered and have a No Objection Certificate (NOC).<\/p>\n<p>She appealed to kite flying associations and citizens to fully cooperate with the administration for a safe Basant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The city administration has announced safety measures amid the three-day Basant festival, which will be held next month.
