ISLAMABAD: Social media platform TikTok<\/a> has removed a total of 28.198 million 284 videos in Pakistan for violating its community guidelines.<\/p>\n

According to TikTok\u2019s latest report, during the third quarter (July to September) of the fiscal year 2025-26, TikTok took steps to identify and remove content that violated its community guidelines, to ensure a better and safer experience for global users on the platform.<\/p>\n

In this quarter, 28.198 million 284 videos were removed in Pakistan for violating its community guidelines, of which 99.8 percent were identified by an automated system, and 95.9 percent were removed within 24 hours of being uploaded.<\/p>\n

According to TikTok, automated technology handles most of the work, while human teams focus on cases where human judgment is necessary, such as reviewing appeals, incorporating expert guidance, and responding quickly to changing situations.<\/p>\n

Globally, TikTok also removed a total of 204 million videos in the same quarter, which is about 0.7 percent of the total content uploaded to the platform.<\/p>\n

Of the deleted videos, 186.6 million 8,081 were identified by the automated system, while a further 8.9 million 50,735 videos were reinstated after review. The pre-deletion rate was 99.3 percent, and 94.8 percent of the identified content was removed within 24 hours of upload.<\/p>\n

In the same quarter, TikTok removed 118.618 million, 399 fake accounts to maintain its integrity, and also removed 22.226 million, 542 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13.<\/p>\n

According to the report, a significant portion of the deleted videos, or 30 percent, contained sensitive or mature content, which was against TikTok\u2019s policies. In addition, 15.7 percent of the videos violated the platform\u2019s safety and decency standards, while 2.7 percent of the videos violated privacy and security principles.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, 32.9 percent of the deleted videos were identified as misinformation, and 34.4 percent of the videos were identified as edited media or artificial intelligence-generated content.<\/p>\n
