KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has issued fire safety guidelines for private schools across the province.<\/p>\n
The School Education Department has ordered immediate implementation of fire safety in private educational institutions and has made the installation of fire alarms, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers mandatory.<\/p>\n
The School Education Department has directed that emergency exits and stairs in schools be kept open and clear, and that regular inspection of the electrical system in schools is mandatory, while the emergency exit plan must be displayed at prominent places.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to the guidelines, conducting fire drills at least twice a year, and fire safety training for teachers and staff have been made mandatory.<\/p>\n
In addition, special safety arrangements for special students have been directed and determination of assembly points has also been made mandatory.<\/p>\n
According to the Sindh Education Department, strict action will be taken against schools that do not follow the guidelines.<\/p>\n
