Punjab Basant holidays has been officially announced as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared February 6 a public holiday across the province to mark the return of the traditional Basant festival. The decision brings back a long-awaited cultural celebration that had remained suspended for more than twenty years due to safety concerns.<\/p>\n

The announcement was shared by the chief minister on social media, where she said the holiday would allow families to enjoy the festival spirit and take a break from routine life. Lahore is preparing for carefully managed Basant activities scheduled from February 6 to February 8. To support public participation, Punjab\u2019s major transport services, including Metro Bus, Orange Line Train, Speedo, and Green Electric Buses, will operate free of charge during the festival days.
