ISLAMABAD: A signing ceremony for MoUs and agreements to enhance cooperation in various fields was held between Pakistan and Uzbekistan<\/a>, in which both countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and expand bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

The ceremony for the exchange of MoUs and agreements between Pakistan and Uzbekistan was held at the Prime Minister\u2019s House, where a total of 28 agreements and MoUs were exchanged between the two countries in various fields.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a joint declaration.<\/p>\n

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan are based on mutual respect, trust and common interests.<\/p>\n

He expressed his determination that the two countries will work together for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and that economic, diplomatic and regional cooperation will be further promoted.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister thanked Uzbekistan for its support for the people of Kashmir and Palestine and said that Pakistan believes in joint efforts for lasting peace and development in the region.<\/p>\n

He also reiterated the commitment to further strengthen the friendship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, senior Uzbek ministers and Pakistani ministers.<\/p>\n

The agreements include cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, establishment of an inter-regional forum, exchange of convicted persons, IT, pharmaceuticals, and prevention of drug trafficking.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, a reception ceremony was also held in honor of the Uzbek President at the Prime Minister\u2019s House, where a guard of honor was presented.<\/p>\n

Moreover, it was decided to confer an honorary doctorate degree on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which was described as an important symbol of the strength of bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

Uzbek President\u2019s visit to Pakistani Defense Industrial Center<\/h3>\n

Earlier, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who was visiting Pakistan, visited Global Industrial & Defense Solutions (GIDS), a major defense and industrial organization of Pakistan, along with senior ministers.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the two countries reiterated their commitment to further promote cooperation in the defense, technology and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, warmly welcomed the President and his delegation and gave them a comprehensive tour of the institution. During this time, the President was briefed on various aspects of GIDS, including advanced defence solutions, industrial capabilities and technological innovations.<\/p>\n

The President and his delegation inspected key facilities and got an opportunity to witness the progress of various sectors of indigenous defence production and industrial development in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The visit highlighted the growing expertise and technological self-sufficiency in Pakistan\u2019s defence industry.<\/p>\n

Both countries stressed the importance of promoting partnerships, knowledge exchange and joint ventures in defence, technology and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

The visit was presented as an important step in strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations and exploring various avenues of cooperation.<\/p>\n

The visit is a milestone in giving a new dimension to bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for joint investment, technical collaboration and industrial projects.<\/p>\n

Both countries agreed to further strengthen relations and open new avenues of cooperation in the region.<\/p>\n

Ishaq Dar meets Uzbek President<\/h3>\n

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Uzbek President Shaukat Mirzayev, who is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.<\/p>\n

In the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and diversify the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar conveyed warm messages from the President, the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan to President Shaukat Mirzayev.<\/p>\n
