Chicken meat serves as an important source of protein in many households as its per capita consumption is more than seven kilograms. This increase highlights the growing popularity of chicken meat across the country.

Lahore sees a significant increase in demand for chicken meat during the holy month of Ramadan.

However, market prices often fluctuate due to factors such as demand, supply and seasonal variations. For example, during Ramadan, prices may increase due to increased demand.

The district government issues a rate list on a daily basis to maintain uniformity in prices. All shopkeepers are required to display this list in a prominent place for the customers.
