Pakistan announces interim jobs for degree holders with Rs150,000 monthly salary

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched an initiative for fresh PhD holders, which provides them with an opportunity to gain valuable academic exposure and enhance their skills before formally entering the academic job market.

Under these initiatives, fresh PhDs will be placed in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Postgraduate Government Colleges for a period of one year.

Selected candidates will be given a fixed compensation package of Rs. 150,000 per month for 12 months.

Eligibility Criteria for program

Applicants must meet specific requirements to be eligible for the program. They must be Pakistani or Azad Jammu and Kashmir citizens under the age of 40 at the time of submission of application.

PhD degree from a university recognized by HEC, whether Pakistani or foreign, completed within the last two years.

Additionally, applicants must have at least two research publications in HEC-recognized or indexed journals.

They must also be unemployed at the time of application, according to the state broadcaster, and those working on temporary or contractual positions must resign if selected.

Mandatory Training

Selected candidates will have to complete a four-week mandatory training under the National Faculty Development Program (NFDP).

Here’s How to Apply?

Interested applicants can submit their applications online through the HECE portal by April 15, 2025. The non-refundable application fee of Rs. 3,000 should be deposited in Habib Bank Limited (HEC Account No.: 1742-79001334-01).

Hard copies of the application form and required documents should be sent to the designated HEC office.

A pre-assessment test will be taken on Sunday, May 11, 2025, and candidates scoring 50% or higher will be eligible for NFDP training.
