When will Safar moon be sighted? SUPARCO predicts

ISLAMABAD: According to Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the new moon of Safar 1448 AH will be born today (Tuesday) at 2:44 pm, and the chances of seeing the Safar moon on the evening of July 15 (Wednesday) are bright.

The age of the moon at sunset on July 15 will be about 29 hours. In coastal areas, there is an expected interval of about 65 minutes between sunset and moonset.

According to astronomical calculations, the first Safar 1448 AH is expected on Thursday, July 16. The final announcement of the sighting of the Safar moon will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has also expressed a strong possibility of seeing the Safar moon on the evening of July 15, and the first Safar is expected to be on Thursday, July 16.

According to the Meteorological Department, the new moon will appear on July 14 at 2:43 pm, and there is a strong possibility of seeing the moon of the month of Safar on the evening of July 15.

The moon will be visible in most parts of the country, including Sindh. The last time to see the moon in Karachi will be until 8:28 pm. According to the Meteorological Department, the moon will remain on the horizon in Karachi for about 64 minutes after sunset.

The month of Safar is the second month of the Islamic calendar. The final and official announcement regarding the moon is made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, while the possibility of sighting is estimated from the astronomical data released by the Meteorological Department.
