ISLAMABAD: There is a high probability of moon sighting at the beginning of the second month of the Islamic lunar calendar, called Safar-ul-Muzaffar, on July 15.
It has been stated by the PMD that the first day of Safar will come on Thursday, July 16, depending upon the official moon sighting proclamation by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
As per the press release of the department, the new moon will be born on July 14 at 2:43 pm (Pakistan Standard Time). By July 15 evening, the crescent will become easily visible across the whole nation, including Sindh, and hence moon sighting will be easy.
As far as Karachi is concerned, it has been informed that the moon will be visible above the horizon for about 64 minutes after sunset, and the end of the visibility of the crescent will occur at 8:28 pm.
It is to be mentioned here that weather conditions across many regions will be favorable for the moon sighting, thus making the moon sighting very likely for July 16.
However, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the final decision after receiving moon sighting reports from across Pakistan.
