DUBAI: The Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team has been fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC)after the first match of the T20 World Cup 2026.
The ICC has imposed a fine of 5% of the match fee on the national team for maintaining a slow over-rate in the match against India.
According to the ICC, during the match played at Edgbaston, the Pakistan Women’s Team could not complete its overs in the stipulated time and was one over behind, due to which action was taken under the code of conduct.
The international cricket organization said that the captain of the Pakistan Women’s Team, Fatima Sana, accepted the punishment imposed by the team, admitting the mistake, after which there was no need for a formal hearing.
It should be noted that Pakistan had a disappointing start to the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, where arch-rivals India defeated the national team and successfully started their journey in the event.
