11 died as house collapses in Kohat after heavy rains

KOHAT: A residential house collapsed due to heavy rain in the Malgin area of ​​Lachi tehsil of Kohat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a result of which 14 people were buried under the rubble.

At least 11  people died in the accident while 5 were injured, most of whom are women and children.

As soon as the incident was reported, rescue teams of Rescue 1122 Kohat immediately reached the accident site and started rescue operations.

Four ambulances of Rescue 1122 Kohat, two ambulances of Rescue 1122 Karak, and a recovery vehicle participated in the rescue operation.

Rescue personnel, with the cooperation of local people, pulled out all the victims buried under the rubble and provided first aid, after which the injured and deceased were shifted to various hospitals.

According to rescue officials, the injured are being provided with the best medical facilities, while the process of completely removing the debris and assessing the area is also underway to ensure the presence of any possible victims.

An atmosphere of mourning has prevailed in the area over this tragic incident that occurred due to heavy rains, while the local administration has appealed to the citizens to be careful during bad weather and stay away from dilapidated buildings.

Later, in Diamer district, various areas were devastated by floods and landslides, and more than 6 places in Thor were flooded due to heavy rains.

Flood debris entered houses, agricultural lands, crops, and trees were washed away, Thor’s connection road is closed at several places, traffic is suspended, and electricity has also been cut off.
