Bread price rises in city after increase in flour rates
LAHORE: In a recent development, the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz ordered to review of the current prices of roti after the prices of flour dropped.
During a high-level meeting on commodity prices, the Punjab CM directed the Price Control Department to quickly revise roti prices in the province.
She said that a drop in flour prices should directly help the public by resulting in a related drop in roti costs. Underlining the influence of rising prices on low-income households, Maryam Nawaz also called for close monitoring of the costs of lentils, vegetables, and chicken.

Last month, the Karachi administration revealed fresh wheat flour (Atta) prices for the city.
As per a notice released by the Commissioner Karachi, the wholesale pricing of fine wheat flour was set at Rs 78 per kilogram (kg); in the retail market, it would be sold for Rs 90 per kg. After a Rs 10 drop, the price of chakki flour was set at Rs 90 per kilogram.
