LAHORE: In a ground breaking move, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched free insulin program to facilitate people suffering from Dibatese and other related diseases.
A day earlier, the chief minister went herself and distributed ‘CM Insulin Cards’ at the homes of young patients across different localities of Lahore along with delivery riders.
She went to Q-Block Sabzazar with a rider to provide insulin cards to young patients. Young patients, Wasay Adnan, Zainab Waheed, and Zain Shahzad, were given insulin cards, glucometers, BSR strips, and needle boxes.
The chief minister embraced Wasay Adnan’s grandmother and asked how the family was doing. Maryam Nawaz also promised to send a car for Wasay Adnan.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that she understands the pain faced by children suffering from diabetes and that the government will reach out to those children who cannot afford medicine or insulin.
1,500 children will be provided with insulin at their doorstep in the first phase of the Free Insulin Programme. It is recalled that the chief minister had announced the programme in December 2024.
How to Apply for the CM Punjab Free Insulin Program
According to the Primary and Secondary Health Department, people suffering from diabetes can apply for the Punjab Free Insulin Program in three ways
1 – The first one is that the affected person can call the 1033 helpline and register for the program by providing the required details
2 – Secondly, they can download HISDU Mobile Apps (https://hisduapps.pshealthpunjab.gov.pk/) and register for the free insulin program
3 –Or lastly, visit the nearby NCD clinic and provide the required details to register with the insulin program
