ISLAMABAD – The price of ghee sold at utility stores has been jacked up by Rs58 amid rising inflation in the country.
Under the Ramadan package, the price of ghee was fixed at Rs 335 per kg, which currently has a subsidy of Rs 70 on the price.
While now Pakistanis will reportedly pay extra for ghee at utility stores.
Reports shared by the digital publication said that the discounted price of ghee has increased by Rs 58 to Rs 393 per kg as against Rs 335 per kg.
Despite the recent increase, the subsidy of Rs 70 per kg on ghee and other food items remains unchanged. The rise in ghee prices has been linked to higher procurement costs.
