ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to introduce a quota-based fuel distribution system as a component of its comprehensive strategy to enhance petroleum resource management throughout the entire nation.
Official sources report that the government is building a digital platform that will enable fuel rationing through a specialized mobile application.
The app will be made available for public download, enabling consumers of petroleum products to register and access their allocated quotas.
The proposed system requires users to sign up by entering their vehicle registration number together with their national identity card (CNIC) information.
Each person who registers will receive a predetermined fuel quota, which will be calculated based on their particular requirements and the total gasoline stock.
The initiative seeks to distribute resources fairly while stopping people from wasting fuel and keeping essential supply chains running during times of changing fuel requirements.
The authorities will use consumption patterns to distribute quotas, which will allow them to control usage without causing interruptions to necessary services.
The government has implemented this initiative as part of its transition process toward digital systems that use data for managing vital resources in response to increasing fuel usage and present supply difficulties.
