ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has announced a reduction in electricity prices.
According to a Nepra notification, electricity rates for DISCOs have been reduced by Rs 1.79 per unit for July under the monthly Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA).
The decision will be applicable to all DISCOs and K-Electric customers, except Lifeline, prepaid customers and electric vehicle charging stations.
The notification said that consumers will get this relief in September bills. The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had earlier requested a reduction of Rs 1.69 per unit for the July adjustment.
The reduction in fuel adjustment charges will provide relief to consumers of about Rs 24.5 billion.
