ISLAMABAD: Following the implementation of 18% General Sales Tax (GST) by the federal government in the budget 2024-25, leading companies in Pakistan have announced new prices of packaged milk, here on Monday.

In late June, the National Assembly approved the budget with 18 percent GST on packaged milk, herbal and homeopathic medicines and food items.

Despite the rejection of the proposal by the Senate Standing Committee on Finance, the government went ahead with the decision, which would put additional burden on the public.

As the Budget recommendations come into force from today (July 1, 2024), the companies have announced new prices for packaged milk of 250ml, 1000ml and 1500ml.

FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited, which sells dairy products under the brand name Olper’s, has released a new price list.
