KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a 20 percent discount for Pakistani students traveling to China to pursue academic degrees, state-run APP reported quoting airline official.

The national flag carrier has also increased baggage allowance up to 60 kilograms on its one flight weekly operating from the Islamabad-Beijing-Islamabad route every Sunday.

The students who are planning to go to Pakistan for the summer holidays or want to travel to their homeland after completion of their educational degrees could benefit from the discount.

Ali Imran, a Pakistani researcher, said that a large number of Pakistani students are currently studying in different cities in China. The discount offered by PIA would greatly facilitate them as they could enjoy both a discount on fares and an increase in the baggage allowance.
