Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to provide an additional six million gallons per day (MGDs) of water for residents of Islamabad to improve the water supply amid an ongoing heat wave.

The CDA chairman issued these directives while chairing a meeting held to review the situation of water supply in the federal capital.  The senior officers of the Water Supply Wing attended the meeting.

The CDA chairman gave the order to supply an extra six MGD of water per day to the public from Simli Dam, taking into consideration their demands throughout the summer.

In a similar vein, localities and sectors with high population densities want to extend the time of water supply. The CDA chairman gave the order and added that all employees of the water supply wing should have their leaves canceled.

”All reports of pipeline leaks should be promptly resolved, and the tanker service should likewise be maintained on high alert at all times,” he said.

He went on to say that long-term fixes for water-related issues have to be implemented.
