Motorcycle transfer fees Islamabad have been waived for one month following special instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The decision was announced on Tuesday in Islamabad as part of a broader relief package aimed at helping citizens cope with rising fuel costs.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the move is linked to the government’s petrol subsidy initiative. He said the waiver will allow motorcycle owners to transfer ownership without paying any fee during the one-month period.

Officials from the Excise Department stated that citizens can visit the Islamabad Excise Office and complete transfers free of cost. To manage the expected rush, additional counters have been set up to ensure smooth service.

An official, Irfan Memon, said the office will remain open 24 hours to facilitate the public. This step is part of the government’s efforts to deliver timely and convenient relief.

The decision comes amid fluctuating fuel prices. Recently, petrol prices saw a sharp increase, followed by a reduction in petroleum levy to ease public pressure.

The government has also introduced a fuel subsidy plan. Under this scheme, two-wheeler motorcycles will receive Rs100 per litre subsidy, limited to 20 litres per month for three months.

In addition, small farmers will get financial support during the harvesting season, while transport sectors will also benefit from fuel assistance and fixed monthly support.

Public transport in Islamabad has also been made free for 30 days under the same relief package. Authorities say the Ministry of Interior will cover the cost of this initiative.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that these measures will be reviewed regularly to ensure economic stability and continued public relief.
